A scan, a PDF or a textbook chapter becomes a batch of drafts on a review screen. Nothing reaches the bank until a person reads it and presses Add; an answer the AI could not work out is flagged, never invented.
Bring a bank in from a spreadsheet, take it out the same way. Answer keys are excluded from an export unless you say otherwise.
Build
A paper is a set of questions. Fix it by hand, build it from rules, or draw it from a pool per candidate so every seat gets a different, equally weighted paper.
Six easy from algebra and four hard from geometry — or a pool of a hundred and more, tagged by subject and complexity, from which each candidate is dealt ten. Marks stay equal across draws; the app refuses to publish a pool that cannot deliver.
Three people arrive for an interview who are on no roster. Add them by name, hand each a printed card with a one-time sign-in, and they sit only that exam.
Set A and Set B from the same bank, dealt as students arrive, each worth the same. A student always sees the set they were dealt — on any device, after any reload.
Deliver
The paper is on the device before the clock starts. The clock lives on our server. Answers queue offline and go out when the connection returns — on the same device or another one.
Close the tab, open the exam on a different machine, carry on with every answer intact and the right time remaining. Only one tab may hold an attempt at once.
Free movement, one-way papers, lock an answer once given, shuffle questions and options per student with answers stored against stable ids.
A code set in advance, or a one-time code the invigilator reads out on the day — and each candidate can be given their own extra time.
Deliver
For the sittings that matter: name the rooms, enrol the machines in them, and let the paper open only on those — in a window that cannot be left.
Windows, macOS and Linux. Fullscreen it cannot leave, a second display noticed, screenshots blocked where the platform allows, and every attempt signed by the machine that sat it.
Seat every candidate room by room, print one sheet per room with Present and Signature columns, and mark attendance from a phone at the door — photograph beside each name.
Pack an exam onto a file, sit it on enrolled machines with no connection at all, and bring the results back the same way — every answer signed, nothing lost.
Watch
Who has started, who is sitting, who has gone quiet, who is flagged — refreshed every few seconds without waking the exam for every viewer.
A note lands on the student’s screen, on the website, the desktop app or the phone — “ten minutes left”, “read question 4 again”.
Grant time to one candidate mid-sitting; end an attempt with a reason, recorded, when the room requires it.
The register’s photograph shows in the room table and opens large on a press, so a screen can be matched to a seat.
Watch
By default nothing watches or listens. The exam window’s events are logged with server times, casual copying is blocked, and a teacher gets a timeline. Nothing ever fails a student on its own.
Focus lost and regained, tabs switched, fullscreen left, copy and print attempts, connection drops, time per question — with where the student was in the paper at each moment.
Thresholds you set mark a paper for review or, if you choose, submit it for the student. A person looks, and a person decides.
A premium feature your partner enables and each exam switches on. The student is told and agrees first; the camera and microphone are read on their device and only a detection — nobody in frame, a second person, looking away, a loud sound — keeps a few small pictures or seconds of sound. Ten moments at most, deleted when results are published.
Mark
Negative marking, partial credit, competitive-exam schemes and grade bands you define. Results are computed as attempts close and released when you say.
Per-question breakdowns, rank, grade, and feedback drafted by the AI around marks it never generated — reviewed and edited by the teacher before release.
Override any single question’s award, with a note, and see it on the record. Re-grade an exam after a key is corrected and every result moves together.
Email a whole cohort the exam details, or the results when they are out, and see who has been told and how often.
Keep
A term’s exams leave the working database for one file in storage — results, every attempt’s answers and timeline, frozen exactly as they read on the day. The list stays; the exam stays readable.
The results table and every attempt open from the archive exactly as they did, even if a question in the bank has since changed.
One JSON file per exam to keep with your own records, and a Restore button that puts every row back.
A smaller working database is a quicker exam morning for the exams that are live.
Yours
Run the whole app at exams.yourschool.edu with one DNS record — certificate issued automatically — and put your logo, your colour and your product name on every screen.
Add the record the settings card shows you; we register the hostname, issue the certificate and answer there. Staff and students sign in at your address with the same accounts.
The sign-in bounces through our address and comes back to yours — no OAuth client for you to register. Or switch it off and keep email and password only.
Upload a logo, pick one colour and every button, link and tint follows. A partner’s branding is the default for the schools it serves; a school can set its own on top.
