How to use Examline

Step-by-step help for everyone who touches an exam: the administrator who sets the school up, the teacher who writes the paper, the invigilator in the room, the student sitting it, and the partner who brought the school on board.

13 sections

  1. Getting started

Signing in, registering your organisation, the roles people hold, and finding your way around the app.

  2. Students & classes

Setting up classes, sections, subjects and topics, adding staff, and adding students one by one or from a spreadsheet.

  3. Question bank

Writing questions by hand, reading them from a paper or drafting them from a chapter with AI, and getting them reviewed.

  4. Creating an exam

Building the paper, question sets and rules, the exam’s settings and schedule, entrance exams, and publishing.

  5. Running an exam

For invigilators and exam-day staff: candidates and seating, the live room, extra time and messages, exam rooms, the desktop app and offline sittings.

  6. Taking an exam

For students: finding your exam, the instructions page, the timer and answer sheet, losing your connection, and submitting.

  7. Results & report cards

How papers are marked, changing a mark, grade bands, releasing results, what students see, and the report card.

  8. Exam integrity & surveillance

What the exam records, how papers are flagged, what a teacher sees, and the opt-in camera and microphone evidence.

  9. Archives

Moving finished exams out of the way without deleting them, and reading, downloading or restoring them later.

  10. Your own domain & branding

Running Examline at your school’s own address, and putting your name, colour and logo on it.

  11. Plans & billing

What an attempt is, the free allowance, buying more, coupons and receipts.

  12. Partners

For organisations that sign schools up: the partner portal, registering schools, plans and offers, coupons and commission.

  13. FAQ & troubleshooting

Answers to the questions schools ask most, and what to do when something gets in the way.
